Age: 51
Personal: I’m married to my wonderful wife Sylvia that puts up with this crazy triathlon lifestyle! She usually travels with me to the races and cheers me on. I have two great kids, if you call a 21 year old son Grant and a 17 year old daughter, Chelsea, kids.
I’m a Development Engineer and Quality Control Manager for the company Trackmobile. No it’s not a telecommunication company, we produce mobile railcar movers, which is sort of a small locomotive. The company’s allowed me to travel virtually all over the globe as seen in the photo during one of my training rides in the Gobe Desert in
Mongolia! They also support me in my racing. I was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the International Fluid Power Society. This is a society that promotes the advancement of hydraulics and pneumatics.
I’ve been a runner most of my life and got interested in triathlons after observing one at Callaway Gardens which also had a small 5K race, which is why I was there. You could just tell everyone was having the time of their life!
Athletic Accomplishments: I've been a competitive triathlete for 10 plus years and always placed high in the ranking. For the last 3 years I've been in the All American standings in USAT. Ranked 1st in 50-54 age in Southeast Region of USAT for '06, 2006 USAT SE Region GrandMaster Champion.
2007 Goals: My main goal is to compete at the Nationals in Oregon and qualify for Team USA (for 3rd year) and go to the World Championship in Germany. In '05 I qualified for Team USA and went to Hawaii for the Worlds Last year I placed even higher but was not able to go to the Worlds in Switzerland.
