Personal: My entry into the sport of triathlon was somewhat of an accident. Growing up, I was a top ranked tennis player in high school, and a competitive runner. While in college, I became injured while training for my first marathon in 2003. While I was injured, I began cycling to maintain my fitness for the marathon and I immediately became hooked. It wasn't long before I was making daily trips to the pool between my classes and doing brick workouts on the weekend.

Aside from training and racing, I really enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking, and spending time with my black Labrador retriever. I am also a trained musician. I studied Jazz Guitar at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Georgia State University.

Throughout my musical career, I have performed all over the east coast. I was introduced by Jimi Hendrix's father at the BB King Blues Club in Memphis in 1999, and I performed at Carnegie Hall in New York in April of 2000.

2008 Jekyll Island Olympic Triathlon: 2nd overall, 1:57:39 (PR)

2008 Hogpen Hill Climb 17k: 1:10:48, 3^rd AG, 16^th overall

Other Athletic Accomplishments

1996 Georgia State Open Singles and Doubles Champion.

In the fall of 1996, as a 14 year old (eligible to compete in the 14 and under age group), I was undefeated (32-0) playing in the 16 and under age group.
