Age: 48
Personal: I am a CPA and work as a financial and accounting consultant in Vinings, GA. My son is a freshman at UGA and my daughter will be attending the College of Charleston next year. Although they both think I am crazy for training the way I do and have seen their mother with many scrapes and bruises from her adventures on the mountain bike, my children are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I began competing several years ago when I was going through a difficult time in my life and I discovered that pushing myself beyond what I thought I was capable of enabled me to clear my mind of the negative things going on in my life, if only for awhile. When I discovered I could place well in my age group it gave me some much needed confidence in other areas of my life.
Athletic Accomplishments: 2006:
Ironman Florida 7th AG
Rock n' Rollman 1/2IM Macon GA 1st Masters
Powerman Alabama Duathlon 1st AG
Country Music Marathon Nashville 3rd AG
(qualified for Boston marathon)
Tundra Time Trial 1st OA
2007 Goals: Due to the pressures of the amount of time necessary to train for an Ironman last year my goal for this year is to have more fun and enjoy the sport(s). I am competitive by nature and will strive to place in the top 3 of my AG but will still have a sense of accomplishment if I don't!
