Amy Kloner is a USAT Certified Level I Coach and a professional triathlete/duathlete living in Atlanta, GA.  She has competed successfully at all triathlon distances from sprint to Ironman, and is currently focusing on the 70.3 distance of triathlon.

Amy has been involved in competitive sports her entire life (tennis, basketball, track).  In high school she rose to the rank of 4th in the state of Ohio in tennis.  She secured a "walk on" spot on her college cross country team, and dabbled in a couple triathlons just for fun.  After moving to Atlanta in 2005, and winning a few local duathlons, she decided to give triathlon a more serious attempt.  She started working with Level III Coach and Sport Factory owner, Matt Russ, in 2006.  Recognizing her potential, Coach Matt Russ invited Amy to become the first fully sponsored Sport Factory Elite athlete.  What started out as “just another challenge” has turned into a huge passion and a very successful multi-sport career.

Amy learned to appreciate the impact a quality coaching process can have on her performance as she won just about every local race she entered in 2007.  She was crowned the 2007 National Champion in both Long Course and Short Course Duathlon.  She was also the overall Amateur World Champion in Long Course Duathlon that same year, and finished off the ride with a 3rd place podium finish at the 70.3 World Championships in Clearwater.  The following year, after beating the entire pro field at Gulf Coast Half Ironman, Amy decided to get her pro license, and hasn’t looked back since. As the 2008 GA Time Trial State Champion, Amy proved that she’s a dominant cyclist, and consistently posts the some of the fastest bike splits in the pro field.  She has had top-10 finishes in nearly every pro race she has entered, with wins at both 11global South Africa and Santa Rosa Island in 2009. Additionally, Amy was selected to race on the U.S. Pro Team at the Long Distance Triathlon World Championships in Perth, Australia in 2009.

Amy takes pride in her own personal approach to the sport:  work your tail off, fight like hell, give back, and enjoy the ride.  While racing competitively, she can usually be found smiling and cheering on others long after her own race has finished. She is a well-rounded individual, athlete, and coach, and recognizes how important a balanced life is.  She is highly motivated and motivational, and finds great satisfaction in inspiring others to find their own success at every level.  She coaches with a great deal of positive energy, clear direction, consistent communication, and valuable feedback.

Amy graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University, and has a Master’s degree from the University of Georgia. She is a certified Spinning instructor and triathlon coach, and also works as a race announcer for several local races as well as international events like Cancun 70.3 and Ironman Cozumel.  Outside of multisport, she spent 2 ½ years in Ecuador as a Peace Corps Volunteer, is fluent in Spanish, and has a passion for international travel (35 countries to date!).
