Brenda V. Morawa
A life-long athlete, Brenda brings about ten years of masters-level cross country and endurance mountain bike race experience and 20+ years of road cycling to her work at The Sport Factory. Following a successful college basketball career, she made the transition to first road, and then mountain bike disciplines. Brenda has completed in BC Bike race twice, once as a part of a duo finishing sixth and the second time finishing fourth overall in the women’s 40+ category with three stage medals. She has also won Off Road Assault on Mount Mitchell (ORAMM) in the women’s over 40 category, won the Snake Creek Gap Time Trail (over 30 women’s category), 17-mile distance three times and finished second in the 34-mile distance for the second race and the series in 2011.
Brenda brings a mechanical engineering background to supplement
her coaching and racing experience and has been an early adopter of power-based training in her own training. As the mom of an elementary age boy, she has a passionate style and emphasizes life-work-play balance by providing a focused training plan and purposeful workouts.
Brenda is actively involved in the Sorella Women’s cycling team, both as a race team member and sponsor and leads a regular Monday night women’s recovery ride for the club. She is certified as a level 2 USA Cycling coach, and pursuing her power certification both with USA Cycling and Sport Factory.
