Jen Henry

Jen has over 25 years of experience when it comes to being an athlete. Her swimming career began at age 5, and she has been competing in some form or fashion ever since! Over the years she achieved recognition at the State and Regional levels for swimming. She learned early the work ethic needed and how to balance training with ‘life’ as she swam up to 20 hours a week throughout high school and college. After taking a short break from training from competition she became interested in Triathlon. Jen began racing Triathlon in 2003. She has competed in races of all distances, but has focused thus far on the Ironman. She has placed in the top of her age group at many local and national races.

Jen joined our team of Coaches in January 2007. She is a USA Triathlon Level I certified coach and a USA Swimming certified coach. She has over 15 years coaching experience working with athletes of all abilities and all ages. Jen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Georgia and a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Georgia State University. She is a currently practicing board certified physical therapist. She really understands the science behind the human body and has the knowledge base it takes to help athletes get to that next level. Since beginning her coaching career she consistently has athletes setting PRs and has had several athletes accomplish top age group finishes.

Jen feels that the key to finding success as at athlete is to have a training plan that fits into our busy lives. Jen strives to take into account your family life, work, and any other constraints along with your athletic goals and can build a custom plan that will eliminate the guess work and help you reach your potential!

Jen is active in volunteer and charity work, and was even awarded the Everyday Ironman Hero award for the 2009 Ironman Louisville, earning a $1000 check to be put towards the charity of her choice. This was an easy decision for Jen, as she is also an integral member of the board for My First Bike.
