Maria Thrash

Maria Thrash has over 25 years of coaching experience. Currently she is the Head Coach / Tri Coach for Dynamo Swim Club where she works with over 120 athletes both in group and private lessons. Maria has coached nationally ranked swimmers, Olympic trial qualifiers, and two Masters World Record holders.

Maria was a three time swim team captain at Clemson University. Upon graduation she pursued triathlon for 7 years, winning many local events as well as competing nationally. She started her coaching career prior to college then post graduation from Clemson, worked as the Assistant Coach to the Georgia Tech swim team. She is currently Head Coach for the Cherokee Country Club swim team, and has enjoyed a 23 year career with Dynamo and Swim Atlanta.

Maria specializes in coaching stroke technique using technology such as underwater video analysis. She brings a meticulous level of detail to her coaching, and believes that assessment and analysis of proper form is the key to swimming success.
