Post Rehab / Injury Prevention
Post Rehab Services
When an athlete is cleared from physical therapy the assumption is to resume a normal level of activity. However, for an athlete, "normal" can be quite different than the average person. Matt Russ has over a decade of experience as a Post Rehab Therapist/Athletic Trainer. He works with all types of athletes coming out of physical therapy, determined to resume their training and get back to a high level of athletic performance as quickly as possible. Matt bridges the gap between being released from PT and the athletes next event.
Injury Prevention Program
As athletes progress in their sport, and push the performance envelope, they often get injured. As these injuries accumulate over the years muscle balances occur, scar tissue and adhesions evolve, flexibility may decrease, and overall areas of weakness and instability develop. This is especially the case with endurance athletes that perform repetitive motions for hours at a time.
The challenge is inserting a strength/flexibility program into an already overschedule life and training season. Often an evaluation and a few sessions to ensure proper form and procedure can give the athletes the tools necessary to keep them "shored up" enough to compete. Depending on the athlete's training phase a more agressive and consistent approach may be desired.
