Michelle Shoup is a skilled and dedicated therapist, educated in many forms of bodywork to better serve her clients' needs. Through her specialized training and life experiences, Michelle has received an understanding that healing is a unique process for each individual. During each treatment session, full focus is given to addressing the physical and/or emotional restrictions in the client's body. Treatment is provided in a safe and comfortable environment using a variety of bodywork modalities that will benefit the patient. Michelle works with the client to facilitate the release of the restrictions in the tissue to eliminate pain, enhance freedom of movement, improve posture, and to achieve an overall sense of well-being.

Michelle is a graduate of Louisiana State University Medical Center with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy (August,1995). Michelle's experiences as an occupational therapist helped her identify the need for more complete methods of treatment. This led her to pursue her certification from Southeastern School of Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy (December, 1999) and focus her patient treatment specifically using massage/bodywork. The treatment modalities and techniques she employ assist the patient in getting to the root cause of their problems/ailments rather than just treatment of symptoms. Throughout the past 12 years, Michelle has worked in skilled nursing facilities, pediatric rehab, and private practice. She has received specialized training in the following areas:

Myofascial Release
Orthopedic and Sports Massage
Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation
Stretching and Yoga
Integrated Energy Techniques
Acupressure
