Bike Fitting

A bike that is properly fitted to your individual riding characteristics and comfort is the key to producing power and reducing aerodynamic drag.  If you are not comfortable, you can not produce power optimally. A comprehensive bike fitting addresses such biomechanical issues as leg length discrepancies, riding style / experience, muscle imbalances, foot/pedal interface, back and neck pain, saddle soreness, and flexibility. Bike fitting may be an ongoing process as you become more competitive and desire a more agressive or aerodynamic position.  The fit for a beginner or recreational cyclist should be quite different than that of a competitive cyclists.  It is important to fit the bike to the rider, not make the rider conform to an ill fitted bike.  This type of fit requires interaction and communication with the cylist and can not be achieved by computer models or formulas in a short period of time.

As a part of our fitting process we can incorporate video analysis to identify technique issues with your cycling.  USA Cycling Elite Coach Matt Russ has been trained by the Serrotta Cycling Institute (SICI) in advanced triathlon bike fitting and has performed hundreds of fits for cyclists up to the professional level.

Did you know that up to 80% of your aerodynamic resistance on the bike comes from the rider- not the bike.  60% of this resistance comes from the torso alone.  Before you spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on the latest aero equipment make sure your fit is optomized.  It is considerably "cheaper" speed!
