Sport Nutrition Services / Weight Loss

Nutrition is the most important non-athletic performance factor and is the cornerstone of a proper athletic plan. If you are not fueling and nourishing your body properly, you simply can not attain your true potential and will be more susceptible to fatigue and injury. Your coach will give you specific dietary parameters but our Registered Dietician and Sport Nutritionist can outline a specific eating plan for you that includes diet balance, weight loss / gain, exercise fuel choices, race day and competition eating, and recovery nutrition. If weight loss is your goal we can provide you with the plan and support to achieve your desired weight.

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Test

Find out precisely how many calories you burn each day and eat for your metabolism
rmrcolorized_1.jpg

A simple 10 minute test can calculate the amount of food you need to consume each day for weight loss. Weight loss, or body fat loss, can be tricky. You must eat enough calories for daily activities and to keep your metabolism active while creating a deficit. $55 per test

A RMR test will...

  • Determine your resting metabolic rate; the number of calories you would utilize if you sat in a chair all day.
  • Your RMR is used to calculate how much you will burn by daily activities such as walking, eating, or driving.
  • RMR is used to calculate how many calories you burn during moderate exercise.
  • We then set caloric "zones." These include the maximum calories you may consume for weight loss, weight maintenance zone, and medically supervised zone. You will learn to eat to your metabolism!

To Schedule your RMR test please click below.

You will be asked as series of questions regarding your fitness and medical history. These questions must be answered in order to proceed. Once submitted you will be contacted for scheduling

Ilana Katz: Sport Nutritionist and Registered Dietician

Some Notes on what to expect and how to decide on what services would be right for you:

At the start of a nutrition program athletes are recommended to attend an individual screening session with their sports nutritionist to assess their eating patterns and important nutrition issues.

Follow-up sessions with the sports nutritionist are designed so that the athletes may discuss specific dietary concerns or questions. Often, issues that require individualized attention include, but are not limited to, nutrient deficiencies (e.g. iron deficiency), weight management, failure to recover well from training sessions, and specialized competition eating plans.

Specialty skills are often requested. These include, but are not limited to, bulking up, eating for post-exercise recovery, fueling and hydration strategies for competition, and eating on the run while traveling.

The Sport Factory coaching software includes a highly sophisticated sport nutrition tracking tool that can be used in conjunction with a coaching program.
