Personal: I live in Asheville, NC, where I work for Eaton as a Project Engineer. I am originally from Atlanta, GA, where I attended Georgia Tech, played water polo and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. My family still lives in Dunwoody, GA. I have a dog, Buster, who loves to go on long trail runs and mountain bike rides with me. My girlfriend, Charley, lives in Boone, NC, where she is studying Cardiac Rehab/Exercise Science at Appalachian State. I have fallen in love with Triathlon because I meet so many great people through racing and training. Training is not easy and having others to train with makes it more enjoyable. I also like testing my limits and pushing myself to the next level in workouts and competitions. Working a full time job, training to compete at a national level for Ironman distance events, and still having time to spend with my friends and family is challenging to juggle and requires that I stay disciplined and focused at all times. During any free time I do have, I enjoy water skiing, snow skiing, and playing water polo with Dynamo/Powerbar out of Atlanta.

Athletic Accomplishments: In 2007, I won the North Carolina and South Carolina Setup Events Series, as well as the Setup Events Invitational Championship. The Championship was a competition among the best male and female triathletes who participated in the North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia Triathlon Series. I am very proud to have won these series and Championship, considering how many outstanding triathletes there are in the Southeast who participated in these season-long series. One of my major goals for 2007 was to be competitive at the PRO level at Ironman Louisville. I was able to accomplish this by placing 11th with a time of 9:15:50, in my first Ironman distance triathlon. My first race as a PRO was at St. Croix Ironman 70.3 in May 2007, where I placed 9th. Since beginning triathlon two and a half years ago, I have won 16 triathlons in the Southeast. I have also completed two Marathons including the DuPont Trail marathon in 2005 which I won with a time of 2:54 and the Austin marathon in 2007 which I ran in 2:42.

2008 Goals: One of my goals for 2008 is to win Ironman Florida and qualify for Ironman World Championships in Kona. In preparation for Ironman Florida, I will be racing several Ironman 70.3 events hopefully to include California, Florida, Eagleman, Lake Stevens, Timberman and Cancun. I will be racing a lot less this year than last year in an effort to get in better quality training for a few key races. My biggest goals this year are to stay healthy and keep my family and friends at the top of my priority list, while having a successful building year for my future as a pro triathlete. I look forward to working with Brett and Matt and racing as a member of The Sport Factory Elite Team.
