Personal: Howdy! (Blame my stint at Texas A&M). I'm one of China's leading male triathletes--or so my mother tells me. I've been training and living in Raleigh over the past few years; competing for a coveted spot at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. It's amazing to be at this level of the sport, and I'm very grateful to be here. I started out getting in shape for ROTC late senior year of HS. Eventually, I took a PE course at NC State called "Triathlon" (NOT spelled triathalon. I dropped the class after a week. But, I kept up with it. Blessed with a very fickle personality, the sport of triathlon has managed to hold my interest for the last 5 years through all the overtraining, bike crashes, mental burnouts and the dreaded World of Warcraft.

I am excited to start formalized training with such a reputable coach and a solid team/community. Commiting with a coach for an entire year is something I've never done (guessing marriage is out of the question). With the friends I've met, the knowledge I've gained and an improved state of well-being, why would I stop?

Well, maybe for a few million dollars.

Athletic Accomplishments: Competed as an elite triathlete since 2003.

- Received the Sportsmanship Prize in 2005 by the Chinese Gansu Province Delegation
- 2nd Overall in the 2005, 10th National Games in China
- Run specialist; PR 10k triathlon split 31:17.
- Qualified for 2008 Chinese Olympic Team selection process.
