Amy Kloner is National Champion

Amy Kloner is the 2007 Short Course Duathlon National Champion.  This is the pinnacle of an already successful season.  With wins at the Powerman Alabama, Turtle Crawl Olympic distance triathlon, Indian Springs sprint triathlon, a 3rd place overall amateur finish at the Baja 70.3, and a 3rd overall finish at the Chattanooga Dam Olympic distance triathlon, Amy has become one of the top amateur athletes in the country.  With a time of 2:11:18 she won with nearly a three minute lead over the second place finisher.

"She is still relatively new to endurance sports and still developing.  A lot has come together for her this season; physically and mentally.  Her economy specifically has improved dramatically" says Coach Matt Russ.  "Amy had a duel focus this season of triathlon and duathlon.  Although we are discussing the Duathlon World Championship next season, we will likely narrow her focus."

Amy has several races left on her calendar for 2007 and is without a doubt one to watch.  More...
