Angela Meyer celebrated her first triathlon victory at the Great Buckeye Challenge Half Iron distance in Ohio.  Angela won the race with a 1:36 run split, for a total time of 5:06:23, over 6 minutes ahead of the second place female.  Angela has proven to have an exceptionally strong run off the bike, with a marathon run time of 3:26 at Ironman Coeur d'alene.

The race did not get off to a good start for her as she realized she forgot to pack her wetsuit and was one of the only athletes without one.  Angela managed to mitigate a relatively slow swim time by posting one of the fastest bike splits and the 3rd fastest run splits of all competitors, including men.

Angela combined her trip to a family reunion in her native Ohio with the race, and her victory was celebrated by 20+ of her family members present to support her throughout the course.

Her next race is the 70.3 World Championship in Clearwater Florida.  "The course will be favorable to her in Clearwater, and we still have considerably more to pull out of her bike" says coach Matt Russ.
