Most athletes have a “dream goal.” I want live like Jon Adamson. If I have one athletic wish, it is to enjoy training and competition until the day I die, and Jon seems to have discovered the athletic fountain of youth.

Many of us wonder what our performance would be like if we started training years earlier. Katie June will not have to wonder, as she started triathlon at the tender age of 12...

Running On Faith
I have worked with athletes who are emotionally fueled by a combination of every one of these motivators. I was surprised by Jackie Seiberts, though; her motivator is her faith, which I find fascinating. It must be a powerful one as she recently finished 7th overall female and 2nd in her division at the Atlanta ING Marathon.

Teams carefully select the right gearing for the course to fully utilize all 27 speeds of their drive trains. But this was not challenging enough for team Independent Fabrication. They decided to do the race with just ONE speed.

American Athletes
It is dark and Mike Smith's clothing is wet. Mike Smith is an athlete, an elite athlete in fact. He is a triathlete, has done Ironman several times, a couple adventure races and even run the Marathon Des Sables in Morocco - a 152 mile running race through the Sahara done in stages.

The Power Within Me

kim_2.jpg
kim_1.jpg
Two hundred and nineteen pounds and five foot tall -  that was me just two and a half years ago. Until February of 2002 when I saw a photograph of myself from a friend's wedding. I had no idea how obese I had let myself become. I still saw myself as a size 12 even though I put on size 20-22 clothing regularly and only shopped at Lane Bryant. Still, it took me another three months to realize that I had to change my life in a big way. I began my new journey and new lease on life just a few days before my twenty sixth birthday.
